Intentionally plan the types of work for each of your workspaces

As you plan a hybrid schedule that incorporates both working in the office and at a distance, take time to schedule the best kinds of things to accomplish in each setting.  While your individual circumstances will vary, consider the following examples.

Best for when you are in the office:

  • Developing ideas
  • Communicating about complex issues
  • Communicating about personnel issues

Best when you are working at a distance:

  • Working with geographically dispersed people
  • Contacting global experts
  • Focusing, doing “deep” work that requires extended thinking
