Have some fun and build online team cohesion!

Team building exercises, games, or social hours are often used to develop organizational culture and team trust. While this can be more difficult in an online or remote environment, there are lots of ways to socially connect when online. The following list includes some examples that have been successfully implemented in the past.

Two Truths and a Lie. This game requires every team member to share two true facts about themselves and one lie. Team members take turns guessing which statement is made up.

Guess the Baby Photo. This game asks that team members send in baby photos and then a slideshow presentation gives everyone the chance to guess who each baby photo belongs to.

Kahoot! Trivia. Kahoot! is an online gaming tool that allows team leaders to set up team or company trivia questions. Team members work through the questions and then recognize a winner at the end.

City Guesser. This is another online game tool where team members have to guess locations based on pictures that are shown. This game can be especially fun when team members represent different geographical locations.

Online Costume Party. Team members can wear costumes to a meeting as a fun way to get a meeting started or to surprise one another.

Ugly Sweater Party. Similar to the costume party, ugly sweater parties can still happen in video conference meetings.

Scavenger Hunts. Remote team members have to scramble around their house or workspace to find specific items and bring them back to the video conference room.

Online Social Hour. Team members can get online for an hour of casual conversation. Team members might bring their favorite drinks and connect informally. In some cases, team members might even bring and play musical instruments.
